As featured on Boing Boing today, a group is translating the following into as many languages as possible:

WAR
IS
OVER!
IF YOU WANT IT
Happy Christmas from John & Yoko

I definitely think Esperanto should be included in this. This is my translation:

MILITO
FINAS!
SE VI VOLAS
Feliĉan Kristnaskon de John & Yoko

But I'm less than completely confident in my Esperanto abilities, so does anyone have a way of translating this that is more correct/idiomatic?

MILITO
ESTAS
FINITA!
SE VI VOLAS
Feliĉan Naskiĝtagon de John and Yoko

or

MILITO
JAM
FINIĜAS!
...

Oŝo-Jabe's translations are good as far as I'm concerned.

hiyayaywhopee:MILITO
FINAS!
SE VI VOLAS
Also good, just that "finas" kinda gives of (to me at least) the impression that War is in the process of finishing (whatever it was doing) where as "finis" would impress upon me that war has completed finishing whatever it was doing, where as "estas finita" indicates that the War has been finished, by whom or what means we don't know (ALIENS!) except from context.

I'm also more for "Kristnasko" than "naskiĝtago" (Feliĉan naskiĝtagon? O! Dankon mia amiko! Sed mia naskiĝtago estas la 10a de Aprilo, ne la 25a de Decembro! rideto.gif)

it was already tranlated as:
MILITO
ESTAS
FOR !

SE VI DEZIRAS TION

Feliĉan Kristnaskon de Jonh k (sic) Yoko
