PaulExcoff:I chuckle to myself that one of the reasons I started learning Esperanto is to make Hitler's ghost hate me as much as possible if I ever meet him. So far I have: Gay, Esperantist, Atheist, Jewish Ancestors, Socialist, and I'm always looking for more ways.

I've got: mild socialist/anarchist, Brown haired, Brown eyed, heavily Celtic English (born in Australia to rub it in), and an extra inch up on him (6'0 compared to 5'9 okulumo.gif). But to be perfectly honest I don't think the man would have really cared - the most important thing was to design a socially acceptable enemy, make examples of them, and then use them as a vehicle for furthering his goals. Modern day gov'ts do it all the time, albeit it to a much less violent and much more peaceful and subtle extreme. Everyone who comes from a NATO country would probably have realised by now that in some cases the justification for war was very ambiguous, generally because more often than not a war can be a great way to take the pressure off of other problems (because, you know, killing people is so much better than getting people off of the streets and into your own workforce, unless the two coincide senkulpa.gif).

(And I'm not edging for a full blown discussion on the morality and justifications for the latests "war on terror", but I feel sure that one general reason for wars (amongst many others) is to avoid issues).

(@ Peacewind - I saw buddhist and thought "mmm, well, I do have some slight persuasions towards some Shinto beliefs" before realising that Japan and Germany were on the same side of the war lango.gif)
