erinja:"Well he can put his own teabag in the cup". Missed the point entirely.Welcome to Australia, where we'd do BOTH (let them do the heavy work with the teabag/serve instant coffee) without a second thought
On the other side of the coin, many Brits would serve a guest instant coffee, with no feelings of shame whatsoever. It's nearly unthinkable here. You brew a pot of coffee, period.
EDIT: And then there's south Australia, where we'd likely give them a carton of Farmer's Union Iced Coffee.
3rdblade:I was pleasantly surprised when an alien creature in a recent episode of the TV series Futurama was neither he nor she, but 'ŝli.' They put in a joke just for the esperantists who were watching! (To everyone else, it was just a funny-sounding pronoun). Jolly good.Haha that's gold! I can remember that, but it never occurred to me at the time that it was an EO pun. Good spotting!

Reteos:Then you must love Hot Chocolate?I once knew a guy who claimed he didn't like any warm drinks whatsoever.
everyone loves at least 1 warm drink
He also claimed he didn't like food to be "browned" because his mom always burned dinner when he was growing up. I explained to him that there's a huge difference between browned and burned. But apparently now he boils or microwaves all of his food. Ew!

mi ne manĝas ovojn, aŭ mayonaise(?)
ili faras mi malsano.
do mi AMAS teo, kafo kaj varma ĉokolado

"Ili faras mi malsano" = "They make I an unhealth"
Also, "Li estas freneza", "Li estas frenezo" = he is madness.
And the Esperanto wikipedia gives "majonezo" for mayonnaise, but it's now been added that to the vortaro for future mayonnaise lovers/haters.
But nice Esperanto sentences there, Reteos!
