Is anybody interested in an Esperanto Gaming website?

I've been contemplating the idea of creating a site called EOgamers or something similar.

alot of people online are interested in games and same with Esperanto, i'm thinking if i could get enough people to think the idea is good then i could begin.

i am hoping to write articles and news updates etc all in Esperanto, as much help as possible would be needed but im thinking it could help get more people into Esperanto and give the learners here more to read in the language.

so what do you guys think?

I like the idea, but my Esperanto grammar is far from article quality.

I love games generally, that idea kicks ASS.

But I think:
1. it needs a very good name
2. the site should look "nice",
not the average
"Hi! I was created by a gamer who doesn't
know anything about colors or design"
3. Please not the standard games, how about classical computer games? Indie games? And less mainstream games

So basically making the site itself interesting not only by slapping "esperanto" as the only value on it.

And I think I would love to write atleast one article, but I can't do this the whole time as I have other projects to do.

Also my grammar isn't that very good at the moment, but I think that can be changed.

Sounds like a good idea! I'll help if you need a writer or an editor. I don't know anything about programming or site design.

Well if you’re serious about making the site, and need graphics then I could lend a hand, I’ve done two years in formal Photoshop training so I could whip something up, but only if you’re serious. And while were on the topic of games; perhaps you could find some Esperanto games out and review them, say over the mainstream stuff.

I've tried doing a little game review experimental site thing before in Esperanto, but I used wikispaces so the site was bound to be ugly anyway lango.gif

One thing you have to consider though - where's the server gonna come from? okulumo.gif Wiki-based free servers are a breeze to use, but this is at the expense of not having total control over the look and feel of the site. Google's also got good site building stuff. Paid servers on the other hand give you total control, but with total control comes more responsibility, effort needed for it to work and you have to pay of course.

(there used to also be a audio review, but it's gone. That's what happens when you don't do site maintenance once in 2 years! rido.gif)

I can write an article about World of Padman. My esperanto is not really good but i think i can manage that.

Right! But articles about esperanto speaking clans and translations of games are fine.

I think you can find a lot of guys who whant to help you on esperanto.com and on the E@I-blogo

Thanks for the input everyone, i am serious about it yes, and i believe its 8 pounds a year to register the site so i will just do that.

I plan to review uncommon, classics rare games etc not the boring mainstream, i will include pictures news etc

i was thinking we could have a whole comunity of posters kind of like Cracked.com,
we could post our articles HERE and get some grammar help from more experienced members and then put them onto the site,

i have made several sites in the past with my brother he is very good at it.

Evildela if you could lend a hand with the graphics that would be a great hand!

as i said before its a comunity based site, not one guy reviewing games and games news, but a whole com unity of esperantists sharing their common interest ridulo.gif

i really like your article if i could have you onboard with this idea i think it would be a good sucess

i've already just located a man who will host it for me so all that remains is to get a name and to make the site
