If a country suddenly formed tomorrow in which one of the offical languages spoken became Esperanto, would you move there?
I'm curious to see what people think.

In sad and boring reality though, probably not, I can't imagine a country suddenly adopting a new language and culture out of the blue (unless it wasn't the primary official language of course). Sure, the Netherlands and Germany have probably more English speakers than England and Ireland, but that kind of thing is less of a culture shock than adapting a relatively new and alien language (EO's history beginning just one and a half centuries ago I imagine?).

Its hypothetical question - if some country came into existence the had Esperanto as one of the official languages would you move there. And anyways it’s not uncommon in history for countries to change languages within a short time frame, just look at Singapore. However back to the topic at hand this is all hypothetical.

I might consider this new state as a regular holiday destination, however.

For instance, i can not imagine living, proudly as an esperantist, in a country occupied by volapukniki forces from an australian dictature and getting used to the training of kangaroos and saltwater crocodiles...

I wouldn't migrate there, but I'd go there on holiday.
The Prezidanto would be George W Bush
