Lynchie seemed to be very interested on learning Esperanto. Even he made some questions about the language, the movado and the reactions of people.

It's pretty weird indeed. It sucks though. I respect people with a genuine interest in positive things. ploro.gif

erinja: Sometimes people delete their accounts ...
Does this mean that all the threads this person created are also deleted? The threads also contain messages from other users.

I just tried this and it seems that is indeed what happens. I created a thread in the Sandbox with a test account, and then deleted the account. The thread then disappeared.

I'm unsure if that is standard functionality on other forums but personally I don't like it because, as you point out, it removes the contributions of other users without their consent.

The account of the person who posted after Miland on the first page has been deleted too. This is weird.

Miland:Very strange, he seems to have just disappeared together with his profile. Perhaps a teamano could enlighten us?
Having had a modest degree of exchange with him myself, I wouldn't mind knowing a bit more about what happened to him, too.
Sounds like somebody is ashamed/appalled about something. Maybe its commitment for e-o which goes offline public(?).

Well, I hope Osxo Jabe doesn't disappear in a similar manner, then! Otherwise, the 'Word of the Day' thread will whoosh away with him. shoko.gif

I concur, this would be a shame.

I'm also wondering... I heard some folks speaking Esperanto on my trip to the mothership last weekend. I wondering...

FYI I've sent an e-mail to the lernu team asking if anyone happens to know anything about these account disappearances. Unless it's completely coincidental, it could potentially be a system glitch (or intentional deletions due to misuse of the site that I never heard about)

On the threads - if you delete the first message in a topic, the entire topic disappears. It must be that if a person initiated a topic, and that person's account is deleted, then all of that person's threads are deleted as well.

I wonder if that system behavior shouldn't be changed. It's not a "bug", since I imagine the system was designed that way, but I'm not sure that deleting entire threads just because the initiator has disappeared really is the best thing the system should do.

Is there an established "change request" system in place for the developers to work against? Because I'd certainly consider putting in a ticket.
