KetchupSoldier:How would one refer to various kinds of nerds, for example, "I'm a gaming nerd!" or "I'm a choir nerd!"?Mi estas Elektronikoludanta giko.
aŭ eble:
Mi estas Videoludanta giko.
I don't know the word for nerd but I've seen giko used for geek quite a bit.

E.g. "Mi estas ĥorulo" or "Mi estas ĥorŝatanta ulo"
= I am a choir sort of fellow / I am a choir loving fellow.

KetchupSoldier:How would one refer to various kinds of nerds, for example, "I'm a gaming nerd!" or "I'm a choir nerd!"?Entuziasmulo pri ĥorkantado, sklavo al vetludoj are possibilities. This is a good example of an English word which can be used in different ways - "enthusiast" in the case of singing, or "addict" in the case of gambling, which makes it easier to translate in context.

You can't even suggest that someone is a bit autistic in their attachment to a pursuit.
Aŭtisto has quite another meaning in Esperanto - Ha Ha.
I suppose a Nerd is a sort of sen-fantazia tedulo, and a Geek is a sort of duon-aŭtisma obsedato.
If the French and The Germans have already borrowed these words from English then I think we can by rule 15 say Nerdo and Giko.
