Saluton,

My entire family enjoys playing the "Punch-Buggy" game. For those of you who don't know of it (consider yourself lucky) it consists of being the first to spot that favorite car, the VW "bug" exclaims (while actually punching the slower person) "yellow punch buggy, no punch back!" Years ago I put the kabash on actually punching the others in the car with me (mainly because as the driver I couldn't reach everybody).

I haven't figured out how to express the "no punch back" part in E-o. Could somebody please help? Saying, "Flava vo doubla vo ne punch back" just doesn't feel extremely satisfying.

Anybody else practice their colors using this game?

Thanks,

Davo

Perhaps "ne repugnobatu"

Why not just "ne rebatu"?

Sorry Jack, I just punched back.

A couple of great suggestions.

Someday I'll breakdown and buy an English-Eo dictionary. Actually the best on-line transulator I've found in the right column of these forums. I just noticed it yesterday shoko.gif

Thanks everybody.

Don't know if you have an iPod, but BitKnights LLC's Esperanto-English dictionary is pretty good. Second to this site's translator, of course. rido.gif

In the German pronunciation of Volkswagen the V is like an F and the W like a V - so perhaps you could say 'Fo-Vo' for a VW.

The classically shaped Volkswagens (prewar styling) are sometimes referred to in the UK as 'Beetles', but skarabo is quite a long word.

What about 'Flava Blato - neniun repugnon'!

I use the accusative here by analogy with 'Saluton' 'Bonan Matenon' ktp.

If you want to use German letter names, you could also use faŭ-ve.

How bouts "vovovo"? lango.gif
Flava vovovovovovovovo! No rovoto! erm, Ne rebatu!
What's a triad in EO? Trioblo? Trio (going on "jardeko" for "decad(e)")? Maybe "Vo trioblo" (since vo duobla vo sounds like it should be just "triobla vo")

Actually, the Esperanto name for the letter W is vavo.
