The one feature of English that retards its adoption as a world language is its polyvalent and inconsistent spelling system. pɑlivaleənt ænd ɪnkənsɪstənt spɛlɪŋ sɪstəm. Euro-English refers to an IPA or Latin based writing system for English that would be easier to learn and use for those familiar with continental sound values. There are over a dozen proposals for Euro-English. The purpose of this group is to review the options and come to some consensus.
