Why do we have to rewrite our names in Esperanto?

Why do you think we have to rewrite our names in Esperanto?

You don't, it's just a thing some people like to do, or like a nickname, or just because some feel obliged to translate their name into whatever language they're learning. It might help with pronunciation too, since my name "Christian" might be mispronounced "tchristEEan" instead of KRIStchen. I don't care much bout it all though.

It's just all the tutorials show the characters changing their names.

We have to change our names if we want to do that.

Some names are translated into Esperanto as if they belong to the language, as Londono, but other ones not.

I Think that that link explains it better.
