A question about the use of "tiom" in the sentence

I see that in sentences, mostly tiom and kiom follow each other; like in:

Li pagis por la kokido tiom, kiom oni ne pagas eĉ por koko.

OR

Kiom da kapoj, tiom da gustoj.

but in some instances also, I saw that this pattern is broken. like in these examples:

Altranĉadon mi iom scias, sed nur tiom, ke mi povus tranĉi kolumon.
[ (tiom, ke) instead of (tiom, kiom) ]

Li havas tiom multe, ke ne bezonas ŝpari.

So the question is:

When are we able to use "ke" instead of "kiom" ?

When are we able to use "ke" instead of "kiom" ?
MI HAVAS TIOM, KIOM VI HAVAS. = I have as much as you have. The TIOM-KIOM combination is used for "as much as" constructions.

MI HAVAS TIOM, KE MI NE BEZONAS PLI. = I have so much that I don't need more. So, TIOM, KE works for "so much that..." followed by some proposition.

The two kinds of sentences are actually very different. In the second sort, we often omit the "that" in English. "I have so much, I don't need more." This tendency makes it a bit harder for us to remember what it's doing in the Esperanto sentence.

tiel kiel / tiel ke
tia kia / tia ke
