ceigered:Regarding the slightly off-topic "tial ke", perhaps a better example is "La muregoj falis, tial ke la malbona (or malvirto/mava for more poetic effect) milito feliĉe invadis"I'm sorry to laugh, but your sentence has a couple of errors in it, so although it is grammatically correct, it means "The walls fell, for the reason that the bad war happily invaded"
The walls had fallen (or simply "fell"), therefore the evil army easily invaded.
Could that above be rewritten as
"La muregoj falis, do la malbona milito feliĉe invadis"?
The sentence would have your intended meaning if you said "La muregoj falis, tiel ke la malbona armeo facile invadis.
tial ke = "for the reason that" (similar meaning to "ĉar")
tiel ke = so that, with the effect that
feliĉa = happy
facila = easy
milito = war
armeo = army
---
Yes, you could also have said "La muregoj falis, do la malbona armeo facile invadis"
That would be "therefore the bad army". You can think to yourself what the effect would be in English if you said "the wall fell therefore they invaded" versus "the wall fell with the effect that they invaded".
There is a slight difference in nuance.

So in that case "tial ke" is completely useless in lieu of "ĉar"...
Thanks Erinja for correct

ceigered: "tial ke" is completely useless in lieu of "ĉar"...Actually, as PMEG puts it, Tial ke = pro tio ke = ĉar. It is tial alone that means "therefore", so in my view you could say La muregoj falis; tial la malamika armeo povis invadi.

ceigered:So the "ke" is the problem-maker in that sentence then..One of the main problems, certainly.
ceigered:..and without "ke" all is fine?Consider your original sentence in English: "The walls fell, therefore the bad war happily invaded". In my view, you need "hostile" (malamika) instead of "bad" (malbona), "army" (armeo) inatead of "war" [possibly you translated "military" by i]milito[/i]?], "easily" (facile) instead of "happily" (feliĉe), and perhaps either "and" (kaj) before "therefore" (tial), or a semicolon instead of the comma.
But don't get discouraged; just take it a bit easier the next time, and check before posting.

Unless a bad war happily invaded? Perhaps a paradigm shift...
