Erinja is absolutely right, Kodegadulo, in asserting that Esperanto has a marked preference for simple forms, allowing adverbs or context to show the intended meaning.

Perhaps it is worth adding that when the complex forms are used there is a marked difference in frequency of occurence of all the possible combinations.

My gut feeling is that estas -inta and estis/as/os -anta are rarely used. On the other hand estus -inta seems quite common, and estis -onta I've come across quite a bit.

An example I came across the other day was 'I hadn't thought of staying the night' (suggesting that your plans were subject to change) rendered as 'mi ne estis planinta tranokti'.

But of course if you said 'Mi ne planis tranokti SED' then I suppose it's obvious that you could be be thinking of making other arrangements.

A bald 'mi ne planis tranokti' might sound like you were not open to an invitation to spend the night.

Whilst it is certainly true that a constant aping of complex forms as might be used in English or French would sound a little odd in Esperanto I don't see any good theoretical reason why a more nuanced expression might not be employed from time to time. The language is less subject to usage constraints than is usual in a natural language.
