Translation help - projections

How should one translate into Esperanto the English word "projection", as in "The Congressional Budget Office makes projections of government deficits and economic growth."
Should I use "projektado" or something else?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

An alternative is antaŭdiroj, perhaps especially if they are speeches by politicians. However, I wouldn't say Prognozoj pli kredindas ol antaŭdiroj!

According to NPIV 'projecto' is like a project or a plan.

Prognozo is defined as forecast (or prognosis in the medical field).

Projekcio has a number of highly specific definitions ranging from geometry to film projection, but I didn't notice one for the meaning of to take current figures and project them into the future.

Ekstrapoli is also listed (with a cross reference that seems to lead nowhere). I assume the meaning is extrapolate. This might be closest to the idea of budgetary projections.

Ekstrapoli gives me the impression of talking about current market conditions, or why the company is dipping into the red despite treating consumers with dignity and respect and giving them what they want.

(postproblemforgesadgolfludi* would be the equivalent for companies that don't respect consumers or care about dipping into the red)

(EDIT: Ah, well, I guess you could "Ni, la ĉefoj de la firmo, devas ekstrapoli pri la financa prognozo de la sano de la firma bankkonto en la venontaj jaroj, antaŭ ol nia bela kunkreita revo falos* en la abismon de fiaskaj ideoj.

*it's meant to be the future tense there despite this being a hypothetical scenario, yeah?)
