You could also make use of ŝati. Evildela.

There doesn't seem to be a very big difference between:

Ĉu vu ŝatus bieron and Ĉu plaĉus al vi biero.

Chainy is right (laŭ mia lingvo-sento) that you could use 'emo al' with a noun.

Ĉu vi havas/sentas emon al biero.

You could probably also do something with inklin-.

Ĉu vi sentas inklinon por biero nun? Ĉu vi inkliniĝas al biero nun?

From the Tekstaro:

That's quite a mouthful! Unless you think it's normal to say something along the lines of "Do you feel the desire for a beer now?"!

That's fine, but I keep wondering why we're all trying to avoid 'Ĉu vi emas al...?"

According to PMEG:
emi = havi momentan inklinon
(see here)

Therefore:

Ĉu vi havas emon al = Ĉu vi emas al

I can't see a problem with that. Unless we're worried that someone else will now pipe up with the comment that 'al' can be replaced by the use of the n-ending! rideto.gif (I don't think I'd agree with that in this particular case, though. I also don't like it when people say things like "Tio plaĉas min")

PMEG also has good information on it.
It certainly does. Wow! That certainly nails it down. rideto.gif That link is also a great discovery. Thanks!

Chainy, I didn't want to suggest that 'emas al' couldn't be used for a temporary inclination, as well as for a disposition.

But I was seduced by the notion that 'havi emon al' might more clearly indicate a fleeting state - a single act of emado, if you will

With some verbs you seem to get this distinction. Frapo - a blow, blovo - a gust, penso - a thought.
