I have not studied Ido. Does it change grammar as well?
Yes, for example there’s no obligatory accusative or adjectival declension anymore.
Yes, I read some users making fun of the declension and saying Google Translate would get rid of it. Strangely, this has yet to be a real issue for me, except occasionally with correlatives that come after commas, I am not sure if they take accusative declension or not. Otherwise, declension is fairly logical and not contradictory to my knowledge. Some rules though clearly have real language irregularities, and I am not sure if Zamenhof put them there or some later editors of the language.

Which ones, for example?

Google Translate would get rid of it (declension)
I tried the following with Google Translate:

Tall men
I saw some men
I saw some tall men

GT gave:
Altaj viroj
Mi vidis kelkajn homojn
Mi vidis kelkajn altaj viroj
