Two nouns

If you're making a statement that has two nouns together, such as:

We have a computer programmer.

Would you say:

Ni havas komputilon programiston.

Or:

Ni havas komputilon programisto.

You could state it as a compound but "komputilprogramisto" is an awfully long word, so maybe you'd want to use a hyphen- komputil-programisto. If you wish to separate the words "programisto de komputiloj" works best. At any rate "komputilo programisto" is incorrect.

With regard to your question about the use of the accusative:

Ni havas komputil-programiston.
Ni havas programiston de komputiloj.

You could also say ni havas komputilan programiston.

This is not a case of two nouns being together. 'Computer' is like an adjective in that sentence as it describes the type of programmer.

I'm sure our German speaking friends would love that one! rideto.gif The word's perfectly fine, but I suppose words can at times get a bit too long for comfort...
