We don't say "to cast an eye over something" in American English. At least not in my region. I would understand it instantly but I have never heard it myself.

Strange. We definitely say it where I'm from in the US.

I don't know where in the US you're from, but it's certainly not an unheard phrase here in Oregon. I mean, we don't say it all the time - I don't hear it every week or anything; really, I can probably go years without hearing it - but I've definitely heard it in general conversation. I may have even said it, on occasion, although I can't remember any particular times.

This is my translation:

"Ciu estas rilata al ĉion alian, sed proksima aĵoj estas pli rilatigita ol malproksimaj aĵoj"

Is it correct?

No, a lot of mistakes:
after al never -n: al ĉio alia
adjective and noun always have the same ending: proksimaj aĵoj
also the adjective after estas has the same ending: estas rilataj
Why do you use now rilatigita instead of rilata?

Thanks! it sounds much better than mine. Actually, interrilata is better.
In google translate it uses aferoj instead of ajxoj, but i´m not to sure that this is correct.

No, a lot of mistakes:
after al never -n: al ĉio alia
adjective and noun always have the same ending: proksimaj aĵoj
also the adjective after estas has the same ending: estas rilataj

I posted my question on this thread because, 1) I didn't know how to translate it without using estanta or some compound verb form, and 2) while not an idiom (I don't think it is, anyway), I didn't think it was inappropriate to post it here.
Try one of these or something along these lines. You can always change "malgrasa" to "maldika" or "malpeza" or "eta" or anything you think is the best descriprion of your feelings at the moment.

* Neniu bongusto pli dolĉas ol senti sin malgrasa.

* Nenio pli bongustas ol la sento esti maldika.

* La plej delikata gusto: senti sin malgrasa.
