I'm have difficulty translating the term 'low power' from English into Esperanto. To explain how I mean this, let's say you are on a spaceship that is on low power. The lights might be dim, or maybe only every third one is lit. Only some of the systems work. Let's assume that the ship is not run on electricity.

How would you generically express in Esperanto that the ship is on low power?

Thanks,
Dave

Malalta potenco (aux malforta potenco)?

Even if not electrical energy power is still measured in Watts, or Joules/second. So maybe "malmultaj vatoj" is the best option (I'm not sure if potenco = physical power or not).

I guess you'll have to decide if that phrase is worthy of being translated. Maybe spanish/italian/etc speakers can express how they say this, since they are similar to Eo.

Hi everyone! Sauton al cxiuj!

It's a good question and I like your suggestions,
Tiu estas bona demando kaj mi sxatas viajn proponojn,

BUT "Modo" is in Esperanto not explicitly an operational mode, but rather fashion! If it is an expression with a noun (i.e. ship of low power), you need to find another word for mode!
SED "Modo" estas en Esperanto ne eksplicite ag-maniero, sed pli gxuste modon! Se tiu estas frazo kun substantivo (ekzemple sxipo kun malgranda=eta energi-konsumado), vi bezonas trovi alian vorton por "mode"!

It can also be translated as an adjective (i.e. low power ship = energi-sxparema sxipo)
Oni ankaux povas traduki gxin kiel adjektivo (ekzemple low power ship = energi-sxparema sxipo)

I prefer "energi-sxparema"!
Mi preferas "energi-sxparema"!

You can translate low power ankaux "et-powuma" with a sense that it does have little capacity and consumes low power!
Vi povas ankaux traduki "low power" kiel "et-povuma" kun senco, ke gxi havas malgrandan kapaciton kaj konsumas etan povumon!

Tjeri:Energiŝparmodo.
As mentioned by Kocxjo001, 'modo' is not really suitable here. It would be better to use 'reĝimo' or perhaps 'moduso'.

How about 'ŝparstato'?
