I like "punopauxzo" but I think "time out" is meant to be euphemistic, so not to freak out the kid that you are calling it a punishment (even though it is).

"Pripensejo" might be good, for encouraging them to think about what they did wrong lango.gif

This is a discussion that I am following with interest, perhaps I will use one of these suggestions once I have kids.

Whenever my kids get naughty usually it is me who leaves their room, sometimes additionally forbidding them to follow me, but we don't have the concept of a special place where they have to stay to calm down.
Maybe sereniĝejo would also fit well.

If I correctly understand this expression 'time-out area', the underlying concept is that the kids are excluded from further participation in whatever it was they were doing.

Do why not 'eksludejo', or for a single child, paŭzejo.

Naughty is a difficult one. The closest I've come is 'petola'. See definition 2 in PIV.
