Would it be pronounced yah-meh-soh? Or would I just spell it as Ĝejms?

It would be "Jakobo " = " yah-koh-boh "

EmilioVdf (Näita profiili) 2. august 2017 22:11.49

Or Jaĉjo for friends Oridulo.gif

GENDER: Masculine
USAGE: English, Biblical
PRONOUNCED: JAYMZ (English)

Ĝejmzo then? One might prefer with a "z" phonetically.

Esperanto expects that the names would be written in latin alphabet. James is ok.

For example Серёга [serjoga] wouldn't be an esperanto name, but Cepëra should be good... yet maybe not for the wearer! okulumo.gif

Or would I just spell it as Ĝejms?

After thought, the possibility to spell it, might be behind the necessity to write it in latin letters... on the phone for example...

Most would have a hard time with James written like : 詹姆士 or Джеймс rido.gif

Zhān mǔ shì and Dzheyms would go through, as far I understand the recommendations of the Akademio

(don't forget the link: novaj rekomendoj en 2013.)
