I find this odd since the word "folkloro" exists but not the root folk. Why is this?
Sorry I know I come here and ask a lot of silly questions

In lernu dictionary,

folkloro (folklor·o)
popolarto

A root in another language isn't necessarily a root in esperanto
From folk +‎ lore, coined in 1846 by William Thoms to replace terms such as "popular antiquities". Thoms imitated German terms such as Volklehre (“people's customs”) and Volksüberlieferung ("popular tradition")

Roch:Volklehre
Volkslehre. Fugen-s for the win. "Volklehre" isn't even a German word in posse, as it doesn't follow the morphological rules. On a side note, Volkslehre means ethnology and not folklore. People's customs would be Brauchtum.

Being a newcomer to the language, i"m looking at vocabulary. I understand mi as I, but then I saw me also. Is there
a difference,?

Shortly:
mi - I:
mi estas esperantisto - I am esperantist
tio estas mi - it is me.
min - me, myself (direct object):
vi vidas min - you see me
mi vidas min - I see myself
al mi - to me (indirect object):
donu al mi la libron - give me the book; give the book to me
en mi - in me (place)
Kion vi trovis en mi? - what did you find in me?
en min - into me (direction)
La instruisto provas enbati sciojn en min - the teacher try to beat knowledges into me.
mia - my (posession):
tio estas mia libro - it is my book
la mia - mine:
la libro estas la mia - the book is mine

I was nearly to say: "Me" ne estas Esperanta vorto, but I controlled in vortaro.net kaj found:
(Ⓚ means: special word of chemistry, mll de means: short for):

Me Ⓚ En formulo:
1 mll de metalo;
2 mll de metil-grupo, CH3-.

But it is certain, that if You found "me" in the sense of "I", "me", "my", "mine" etc., this is an error.
