While XIHA has an translation tool that any member can be given access to, there is no FB-style public democracy system. Instead, skilled translators who are passionate about what they do are chosen to do the job. I would be grateful for feedback on the site, especially how the Esperanto localization works out. The work is not completed, but most of the user interface is already done. You'll find the Esperanto version at http://eo.xihalife.com/ (auto-detection of language may happen, in which case just click on the globe in top-right to choose Esperanto)

I see in your profile you are a co-founder of xihalife. From what i can see it looks like a very good social-networking website. Perhaps you can make a change to Taiwan's name? I think most Taiwanese would prefer just the name Taiwan, or a compromise Taiwan (ROC), like on the tags,...

But adding (China) is off putting. China is a hostil country to Taiwan with more then 1000 missiles pointed at us, and whenever we have our FREE Presidential elections, China trys to intimidate voters by way of threats (in the 1996 election they shot missiles over Taiwan) Please don't give into pressure from China! If you are able to change the name, I and I'm sure many more Taiwanese would be happy to join your social networking website.

Senlando:To xihalife,What you say makes sense, so I changed it to Taiwan. We are completely non-political organization so we have no opinion on the matter, one way or the other. We welcome people from all over the world, and our members are generally interested in other cultures, languages and of course, people.

Now, going back to the topic (well, almost to the topic at least), did you have a chance to check out the Esperanto version of xihalife? I'd be very happy to receive some honest feedback on that, too! (I don't speak Esperanto, so the translations are not made by me... the Esperanto version is made by novatago who is also a member of lernu!)

I am sincerely happy about the change! Thank you for fixing Taiwan's name. I've made myself an account and have been trying out the different things on the website. I haven't used the Esperanto setting that much yet since I'm not yet a fluent speaker and would like to explore it in English first. But as soon as i figure it out, I will be switching to the eo version exclusively. By-the-way, I really like the globleized feel of the network!

If you have a Facebook account, know some Esperanto, and haven't voted on any terms yet, please add the "translations" application and do so. Every term has to reach a certain fairly high threshold (apparently around twenty-five votes), and some terms are still in need of an expert opinion.
