ceigered:Aaa, dankon mnlg, mi komprenas vin ridulo.gif
Tre bone ridulo.gif
So I need to use 'kiuj' whenever I can could also use 'which', e.g. 'The things WHICH/THAT are free'
When by substituting 'that' with 'which', you do not have a 'clumsy' sounding sentence, yes. Since you seem to know a bit of Italian, then, if you can substitute 'che' with 'il quale/la quale/i quali/le quali', then it's "kiu(j)", otherwise it is "ke".

Very often 'ke' is right after the verb: "ĉiuj opinias, ke...", "mi aŭdis, ke...", "vi scias, ke...", which makes sense because, as I said, it introduces a direct object, or a subject, like for instance "plaĉas al mi, ke la suno brilas". ("I appreciate that the sun is shining", but, more literally, "[the fact] that the sun shines is pleasant to me").

Ok, I've got it now ridulo.gif And yes, I'm relearning a lot of Italian at the moment so you also helped me with my Italian, I keep on forgetting those 'quale/questo/quello' words ridulo.gif

Dankon denove lango.gif
