The verb atendi, to wait, a transitive verb with a direct object, e.g. Atendu min!, Wait for me!
The ending -ant shows that is a participle, more precisely active (the letter n), present tense (a) participle.
Since the whole word ends in -e, the word is an adverb. Adverbial participles works like clause-equivalents, i.e. they replace a sub-clause. In essence they show some additional action that took/takes/will take place besides the action of the main clause. Since you have here the present tense, it shows something that takes place at the same time.
- Estas poto da oro ĉe la fino de ĉielarko atendante vin. : There is a pot of cold waiting for you at the end of a raibow. (the waiting takes place at the same time as the existence of a pot)
