Momomomomo:For an English speaker, Scotts, not to be confused with Scottish Gaelic. It's easy because it's hardly more than a dialect of English, which is cheating I suppose. I'm told German I quite easy but I never learnt it because I didn't like the sound (or the German teacher)I was going to say, gaelic is really hard.
But yeah, that's cheating x]
It's just learning another accent.

I've also been told that Indonesian is a very simple language to learn in that it has a small number of easily pronounced phonomes and simple grammar. Again, I've never studied so I don't really know. Maybe someone else could enlighten.

"my pen is in my hand"
is translated:
"my pen is in my hand", although it is pronounced different.
Frisian as well is a lot like English.
Tok Pisin is an English based creole spoken in Papua New Guinea. It`s fun. Check it out.
As for non-Germanic based languages, I found the basics of Bahasa Malaysia to be not too confusing.
