Mi pensas ke la vorto 'foster' en la esprimo 'foster common language' (estas pli bona por havi pli grandan frazon) estas kiel "subteni" aŭ "kulturi".
"may" en tiu frazo estas kiel "eble" (pozitive).
"respectfully" estas kiel "bonmaniere" aŭ "ĝentile", aŭ kiel "respekte" (respect = respekto, -ful = pleni per, -(al)ly = -e)
