Is librarejo a word for library? It seems like it would be better than biblioteko because

1. It is formed from the roots libr-ar-ej-o

2. It still looks like a natural langauge word (Library)

But, I have never seen it yet. Is it ever used?

Librejo is often used for library, although more usually for bookstore. Can't say I've ever seen librarejo but I suppose you'd be perfectly well understood anyway.

Librejo would be pretty understandable, perhaps libropruntejo would be even clearer. It depends on your public too.

I always thought of librejo as the standard word for “library”—someone should add it to the lernu dictionary. (See for example the eLibrejo.)

Yeah, all I found was biblioteko in this dictionary. Seemed odd to me.

librotenejo could be an alternative

The wiki La bona lingvo proposes instead of biblioteko: librejo, librotenejo, librarejo.

I think librokolektejo is a good word too.

A potential problem is that the suffix ejo is ambiguous concerning the exact type of "place for something", and so needs a context or an established tradition of meaning to be understood. For example kafejo means cafe, not kitchen. Biblioteko is well established by now, but in my view librarejo or librejo could probably be understood in context.

Exactly for example, does librejo mean a place for buying or borrowing books ? But it can be nice also to have a general word for both.

I like the idea of libropruntejo and maybe librovendejo (or just librobutiko).

Technically we're supposed to take out the O right? But then you get such unpronouncable words as librpruntejo and librbutiko lango.gif.
