It's not too hard going for me, especially as I've read it in English several times. The 'k's are a bit ugly, that's my only complaint. A few words popped up so far that I would like to hear a bit more insight on:
*najllumitajn ŝuojn = nail-hard hiking shoes..? I can't quite pull this one apart.
*montoĉeno and montaro - are these more or less synonyms or is there a bit of nuance I'm missing?
*skipo, as in 'skipo de ŝerpoj ekiris al la rokopinto' = a crew, a team? My old dictionary doesn't have it.
*premsonĝo = presage, premonitory dream. Literally 'press-dream'.
*plorpetante = imploringly..?
I'd like to hear your thoughts on this translation in general as well.

3rdblade:*najllumitajn ŝuojn = nail-hard hiking shoes..? I can't quite pull this one apart.najl (nail) lumita (lit) ŝuoj (shoes)? I don't get it either
*montoĉeno and montaro - are these more or less synonyms or is there a bit of nuance I'm missing?Montoĉeno = mountain ridge/range. Montaro = lots of mountains, no real structure. Compare the wall of a crater with bumpy ground.
*skipo, as in 'skipo de ŝerpoj ekiris al la rokopinto' = a crew, a team? My old dictionary doesn't have it.I think it means something like a crew shift or something - the group of people who do something at a certain time or a certain task
*premsonĝo = presage, premonitory dream. Literally 'press-dream'.Nightmare? Rough dream? ("premi" can be used for "oppress")
*plorpetante = imploringly..?Well, I barely know what "implore" means in English (the Lernu dictionary says "elpeti") so for this I'm rather useless but -ante kind of means -ing in the sense of "Reading, he ate a cake" (Manĝante, li manĝis kukon). So "plorpetante" means something like "so-and-so-did-something, begging".

Tintin dreams that his friend Chang was badly injured and covered with snow, crying out for Tintin to help him. He wakes up with a sudden yell. Haddock asks what happened, and Tintin replies,
"Mi petas pardonon, mi verŝajne havis teruran premsonĝon."
'Nightmare' makes sense, but I can't shake this connection (which may just be a conincidence) between the 'press' in 'presage' and 'premsonĝo.'
Leporino, amazon.fr has some copies of this book for just over 10 euros, if you can read enough French to order there. I luckily found mine a bit cheaper at the local Esparanto association.

3rdblade:Dankon! I just want to make sure about 'premŝongo', so I'll add more context:I think premsongxo as to be understood as obsessive dream, dream that make upset.

najl-um-ita sxuoj : lit. nail-"smurf"-ed shoesHa ha! The best explanation ever for -um- !!! "-smurf-"! That's it!
By the way, I love these blue little smurfs! I've been collecting them since I was a little girl. Now I've got over 400 figures.
