I can't translate the word deal in Esperanto. Could you say anything about it? Thank you.

Francisko

"Deal" in English has a number of possible meanings, depending on the context, and in general, if you want help in translating something, it is important to provide the context.

The Wells dictionary (new edition) has the following:

"deal kvanto; negoc-i,-o, komerci; disdon-i, -o; abiligno; ~with trakti pri; okupiĝi pri; temi pri; aranĝi, ordigi; a great ~ multe"

Hope that helps.

What is the Spanish equivalent that you want to translate Francisko? That might be easier given how many things "deal" can mean in English.

Hi,
here's one translation okulumo.gif:

It's not a big deal.
Ne estas granda afero.

Some more examples:

"It's a deal!" means "Agreed!" or Konsentite! Note that this is not simply the opposite of "It's not a big deal". To "close a deal" is to complete a commercial agreement, fini negocon.
"What a deal!" can refer to an unhappy or undesirable situation and so be Kia (aĉa) afero (aŭ situacio)! Of course we might speak of a "good deal" or "great deal", in the sense of feliĉa afero, but note that "deal" in this last sense can also be used for a large quantity: "He owes them a great deal of money", Li ŝuldas ilin multe da mono.

As I said, you need to provide the context, to make it clear what kind of "deal" is being referred to.
