Since I was told that my posting of this was misplaced, I followed my fellow posters' advice and started a new thread for this.

(What can I say...I have always been a fan of painting a target on my back!)

You already made a thread for this and it died. There's no use bringing it up again.

Well all you simply have to do is fork the language and apply your patches. Then, beat the drum and hope people adopt your fork. And if a lot of people adopt your fork, it may someday outpace Esperanto, or your patches may be adopted upstream (upstream being the mainline Esperanto language, of course). If it isn't well-adopted though, it will languish in developmental hell, and you might end up giving up and your fork will become an orphaned project.

Lessons from open source development.

Just necro the old thread if its the same content -either way the resulting replies will still be the same...

I'm curious to know who requested that this document be re-posted. A sadist or a masochist, do you think?

Malfeliĉa ĉevalo... jam delonge mortinta, sed ankoraŭ batadata...

Tiu estas (almenaŭ) la tria fadeno por turmenti la animon de tiu besto...

Hope that talking about the horse is still "on topic", as I don't really want to discuss the changes.

Amike,

Daniel.

The horse is mentioned in the thread's title, so I think it's on topic.

The topic also mentions "changes" so I'm sure we could also remain on topic by discussing recent changes in the weather due to the arrival of the northern hemisphere summer (southern hemisphere winter).

As for me, it is now reliably warm enough that I have put away my mid-weight early spring coat for good, and the only coat still in use is my summer weight rain jacket.

As a wise person once said, "Kontrastoj bonas; suno venu!"

It's 90 degrees (32 C) and humid down here. Typical spring weather in Louisiana lango.gif

Weather forecast for Vienna (source: wetter.orf.at):

- today: mostly sunny until noon, possibly rainy in the afternoon; 23-24°C
- Sunday: cloudy, possibly rainy; 13°C
- Monday: alternating between rainy and sunny weather; 17°C

... this was such a warm and sunny week and now the cold and rainy weather comes back ...

It was sunny minutes ago in Birmingham, just before a cloud crossed the sun as I wrote. There's British weather for you. Stiil, perhaps a good day to go into the city centre and see if the Go club is active, I might take it up again as an eterna komencanto.

Concerning the document recommending changes to E-o, I believe most of those were rejected 100 years ago. But here's an idea more likely to enrich humanity culturally; try making an Esperanto version of a classic sci-fi film. Just consider the concluding remark following its climax.
