sudanglo:NPIV's definition of 'moderatoro' is moderigaĵo. But I would quite happily accept it as a person also. However their job is to 'moderigi, the forum , isn't it?Moderatoro = self-moderating gold, or a moderate torus?

Moderigulo and Redaktulo, what's wrong with these?
@ Darkweasel:
About "forumprizorganto", why not just "prizorganto"? Forumprizorganto is of course long, but no doubt you can skip the "forum" part if it's not needed. We don't say "forum moderator" in English all the time after all (and "foruma prizorganto" is still an option for when clarification is required).

sudanglo:Ceiger, one would prefer moderiganto to moderigulo, for the same reason one prefers komencanto to komenculo, and lernanto to lernulo. '-ant' makes the relationship to the root more explicit. The -ant- gives the impression they're currently moderating though, laŭ mi. I mean, it's obviously not such a strong of a meaning that having -ant- at the end of a word implies immediate, current action, but in the end -ulo and -anto seem equally as ambiguous in meaning, they've both got potentially misleading quirks.
And since moderigatoj don't seem to really exist as a concrete concept, I think "moderigulo" will probably be understood as "moderiganto", ĉu ne?

Ĉu vi estas fumanto?

sudanglo:'-ant' carries with it the double meaning of '-as' - now and habitually.Indeed, but then again "ulo" carries the meaning of -er, so it's just as eligible, more a question of style perhaps (of course the meaning of the root is important. "Fumulo" to me sounds weird

There are clearly two different common culinary treatments, which should be distinguished in Esperanto.
