geo63:Hey, I'm just saying, it sounds like the language is spoken fast to my English-raised mind, and said that in case others from other backgrounds thought something similarceigered:It is for the world, not for the English. It is not even in English. So who cares what the English think of it - you are only 5% of the world population.geo63:Call it "rapidlingvo".To an English speaker that sounds like Speedy Gonzales speaking Spanish (Or just normal Spanish... even though we speak just as fast)
After all, English is not alien to other languages, and is itself a bit of a mix-breed-dog between the romance and germanic languages - so that's more like 15% of the world population in this Sprachbund, and if they think similar things to English speakers (who're smack-bang in the middle-zone with the Dutch), that's maybe an importing consideration.

geo63:Ceigered's comment was perfectly legitimate and reasonable. I think the name 'rapidlingvo' would also be rather unclear to speakers of other languages, not only to native English speakers.ceigered:It is for the world, not for the English. And it is simply silly to say 'who cares what the English think of it?'. Firstly, Ceigered is Australian. And according to your silly way of reasoning, what should one think about the opinions of Polish speakers (a language spoken by less than 50 million people)?

These forums aren't really the place for personal sniping. If you two want to make comments back and forth at one another, now or in the future, I suggest you do it in private messages. No one in this forum is interested in reading about your personal differences.

geo63:And does that matter?darkweasel:Guys, can’t you regulate your personal differences via private messages?I can, but the other guy obviously can't and starts fighting. Count his messages and mine - then you'll notice who the sinner is.

Very easy, isn’t it?

No one is interested except you two.
Take it to private messages. I'm going to start deleting these off-topic personal messages between you two, it doesn't belong in this forum.
I suggest that if you dislike someone personally in the forum, that you ignore this person's "silly messages" or that you respond to the person by private messages.

Well, I'm glad you left my original response to Geo's comment. Afterall, we surely have the right to respond to what others say in the thread? Particularly as my response was in no way 'sniping' or malicious. I was just criticising Geo's remark to Ceigered and I gave good reasons why, all of which was relevant to the thread. That is a normal part of a discussion.
I don't have anything against Geo. I hope future discussions will run smoothly. I'm certainly not going to instigate anything negative.
