paŝisto=stepper?, walker?

paŝistaro= a group of walkers?

I've worked on learning common affixes, but I'm stumped. Help, please.

It is not paŝo, but paŝto : paŝt -ist -ar o

Ne estas paŝo, sed paŝto...paŝt ist ar o...

paŝti - to put out to graze; paŝtisto - shepherd; paŝtistaro- group of shepherds.

In poetry and songs unusual word order and the elision of the final 'o' are used to make the rhymes or rhythm fit.

In normal prose al miranta la paŝtistar' would be al la miranta paŝtistaro.
