I am studying prepositions right now. I have been doing fine until I got to "gxis," which means "until." An example sentence the program gives is "Anna iros gxis tie." I understand this sentence to say "Anna will go until there." That doesn't sound right. Will someone please help me with this sentence?

If I well understand the English sentence, it seems to be correct (but it's a future: "Anna will go until there" ). What is the problem of this sentence?

Many of the prepositions in Esperanto do not correspond exactly with those in English. In the sentence you quoted, 'ĝis' could be tranlated as 'up to'. In other words Anna will go up to there, (that place, no further than there.)

I didn't think about that. I considered "until" with regard to time and not location, but that makes sense. Thanks.
