Other ability is to use "eblas":

"Ĉu mi rajtas iri?"
Also the incomplete question "Ĉu mi rajtas ...?" is quite common, if the context or a gesture makes clear for what permission is asked.

I believe that in Esperanto the verb povas (generic) may be replaced by another more specific, depending on the context. E.g.: devas, kapablas, eblas, rajtas.

Example in English: "Is it okay if I go there?"

To ask can(asking permission)do you use povi?Yes.
PIV gives havi la kapablon, havi la rajton and havi la permeson in its definitions of povi
