jefusan:Porstultuligi? This goes a long way to capturing the meaning of dumbing down.
However, Altebrilas's post suggests another possibility - kretenigi.
By the way, what has happened to 'ifi'. Wasn't that in an earlier version of PIV for use when -ig -um or -iz don't quite hit the mark.
Which sounds better:
Kretenigo de la televido
Kretenizo de la televido
Kretenumo de la televido
Kretenifo de la televido

sudanglo:Which sounds better:Definitely kretenigo as -ig- is the most widely understood and undebated suffix.
Kretenigo de la televido
Kretenizo de la televido
Kretenumo de la televido
Kretenifo de la televido

By the way, what has happened to 'ifi'.What is "ifi" ?? Does this have something to do with the English -ify or Italian -ificare?
I don't see why we normally need anything other than -ig. -iz might be helpful in technical contexts, sure. But -ifi? What does it do that's substantially different? This sounds like another Ido-esque suffix with no real additional value ...

jefusan:Porstultuligi?Oooh, I like that one. Reminds me of those "For Dummies" books.
