Kliphph:Malmultakosta (inexpensive) can also be ĉipa, malmola (hard) has been used in poetry as dura. There are many other auto-antonyms (ones not using the mal prefix) in Esperanto.Hmmm, I guess the term “auto-antonym” is, much to my surprise, ambiguous. The traditional meaning of an auto-antonym is a word that has, simultaneously, contradictory meanings. Perhaps the most notorious example in English is “to sanction”, which can mean “to approve of”, or “to disapprove of”. The meaning of “auto-antonym” that you are evidently using, namely, being negative without an overtly negative appearance, is an interesting alternative take on what an “auto-antonym” could be, and merits its own discussion and treatment, but it is not the meaning addressed in my question.

esperanto → esperanto
ŝlosilo (ŝlos·il·o ← ŝlos·i)
instrumento, kiun oni turnas en seruro por ŝlosi aŭ malŝlosi
So it could make malŝlosilo redundant, imo ~
