DLT: a failure, or a possible success waiting in the wings?
The English-language version of Wikipedia and the Esperanto-language version of Wikipedia both have an article on DLT, here, and here, respectively. They disagree on the outcome of DLT. The English-language version says it was a failure, but the Esperanto-language version says it is a possible success waiting in the wings. What do YOU think?

I am no specialist in machine translation. As far as I can say, the failure has nothing to do with Esperanto. The reason is that non-formal languages are ambiguous.

Yes, but the Yarowsky algorithm might take care of that.

Well, that were mostly scientists (Descartes, Einstein...) that were asking for a common, clear and simple laguage.


Dans la sphère de la traduction technique (par exemple entre le français et l'anglais, avec une traduction intermédiaire en ILO et retour avec AECMA Simplified English, en collaboration avec le constructeur aéronautique néerlandais Fokker), on a atteint environ 95 % de précision sur les phrases traduites.
