I think the clearest translation is Mi igas vin vidi lin.

Mi vidigas lin al vi is also correct.
I entirely agree with you. Vidigi means to show, display, mostrare (it), afficher, montrer(fr), zeigen (ge). The simplest is: 'Mi igas vin vidi lin'.I make you see him.Mi vidigas lin al vi = I show him to you.
I hope this helps.

This is a good point and I have edited my messages accordingly. It raises the interesting question of how ig should be used to modify a verbal root when the result could be either active or passive. We can say La instruisto laborigis la infanojn for 'The teacher made the children work'. But the only apparent reason why vidigi cannot mean 'to make someone see' is that the meaning 'to make seen', i.e. the passive sense, is already established.

Exactly, one can look at the detala gramatiko , page 140 which explains that -ig verb's objects are either the subject of the root verb (labor/igi la infanojn:make the subject (kids)do work) or the object of the root verb, the thing that the root verb affects, (vid/igi lin al vi: make the object (him) be seen (by you). As you said, the most common use is to treat vidigi as pertaining to the object ( make it be seen= show, display it).

Page 140 in the "detala gramatiko" really helped to clarify things.
Thanks alot for the referral.
