I am having difficulty with the translation of a place name I am using for a novel. The name, in English, is "Time's Keep," and the "keep" is meant in the sense of both "manage, take charge of" as in "Keep the shop while I'm away," as well as the noun, as in the stronghold of a castle.

My rudimentary knowledge of Esperanto leads me to a few different expressions:

Tempo Konservas
Tempo Fuorto
Tempo Burgo

Which of these (or another) would best compliment the dual definition of the word "keep" in English?

Thank you for your help!

If you go here you will see that from the various meanings of gardi you have not a bad match for 'keep'.

So tempo gardas. or if you want to emphasize the place aspect (eg Time's Fortress) la gardejo de l' Tempo.

Note, the latter is potentially ambiguous - which may suit your purpose. Ĉu ejo kie Tempo gardas aŭ ĉu ejo kie Tempo estas gardata.

sudanglo: la gardejo de l' Tempo
