Probably "portanol" is what we call in Spanish "portuñol", an informal mixture of Portuguese and Spanish ("español"). It is common in the borderline between Argentina and Brazil. Same idea as Spanglish, though in this case the mixture is among more similar languages, both derived from Latin.

Galician (which some considerate a dialect of Spanish and others a language on its own) is effectively more similar to Portuguese than Spanish is.

Seriously, I understand that Galician is a halfway language between Spanish and Portugese, not just a slang hybrid like Portanol (a Portuguese analogue of Spanglish).
