ceigered:and the final apostrophe is good if it has final stress - it makes sense because what do you do in poetry or Esperant'? Your doing the same thing here, just treating the word the same as if it was a shortened Esperanto (Esperant') word ridulo.gif
…which it isn’t okulumo.gif

Sorry I have no idea what this thread is on about, I just added my comments on those accenting systems.. I'll let you all have your peace by choofing off for a minute rido.gif

A slightly unrelated question on stress, if you drop the o off a word (e.g. revido > revid'), does the stress move back because a syllable is missing? (I.e., is it révid, or revíd?)

Yes, the stress is on the last syllable in this case.

The stress would stay on the same syllable. So, without the 'o', the stress is on the final vowel ridulo.gif

It's back on topic, but in the Hejma Vortaro, I found "Bonan" for "hi." It's apparently an abbreviation of all the bonan-phrases.

Sounds like how in English we say 'Have a good one' or in Norwegian how they say 'Hardetbra' (Have it good), only the havu has been omitted.
