I can't find a word for girlfriend or boyfriend in the english/esperanto dictionaries of which I'm aware. I've made do with Significant Other (but I'm pretty sure that Signifoplena Alia loses something in translation.) There must be a term for each relationship, yes? Can anyone clue me in to what it is, please?

That would be "friend of heart", so koramiko / koramikino.

Laux mi estas pli malbona fari sekson kun knabo. Via vorto ne faras sencon.

I think there was some translation problem, here. The proper word is koramiko. It's not in the en-eo dictionary, but it is in the eo-en one.

The words knabo and knabino refer to male and female children respectively, not adults, and probably not teenagers either. I've added the words to the En-Eo dictionary, thanks for pointing that out Islander.

Thank you, Islander. *tries to make sense of the remaining posts with my beginners esperanto*

Might I remind everyone - this is the English forum. You can post in any language, but non-English content should be accompanied by a translation.

If the distinction between koramik(in)o and korknab(in)o bothers you that much, perhaps it would be more advisable for you to use "karul(in)o".
To me, that's too close to the name "Caroline" and it could cause an awkward moment with the significant other in bed, since that isn't her name...

Where do you think that expression getting screwed comes from? rido.gif

Don't worry, I think even experimented esperantists didn't get much more luck in that area...
