Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, it seems to me that whereas 'll'' at the beginning of a syllable (as in 'Llan') sounds like 'hl', at the end of one (as in 'pwll', 'gyll' and 'bwll') it is more like the German ch (not the Scottish ch), except that the part of the tongue that is pressed against the teeth is nearer the front than with the German 'ch'. Any opinions from people who have listened to the song?

I have to say in that video it does sound like a slightly more softer, breathier version of "ch" (in ich). It's hard to tell in actual conversation because I've never had one before (in Welsh ), but from what I can tell "ll" at the end of a syllable is actually a sort of inverted version of what it sounds like at the start of a syllable.

At the end of a syllable though, ll should still be articulated in the exact same way, so the tip of the tongue shoul be used. Maybe the similarity is cause because the air is escaping through the sides of the middle of the tongue, where as with "ch" in ich or /ç/, the air escapes through the middle of ridge the middle of the tongue. I don't wanna think about it too much though otherwise I'll start making "ch" noises instead of "ll" when trying to pronounce things like "ll"
