"aperi"'s definition EO-EO is "ekvidiĝi" (to start to become looked at) and "ekesti" (to start to be), and "ŝajni" seems better suited for "it appears true/false".
The definition so far: Karnovora marsupiulo kiu estas kiel hundo kiu havas tigrajn striojn (Thylacinus cynocephalus) (formortinta)
The problem with "estas kiel hundo" is that Thylacines aren't really dogs, and some non-visual characteristics are extremely undoglike (like having a pouch, which can't be seen normally, being more related to the kangaroo than a wolf, and having peculiar behaviours like hopping like a kangaroo (believed to make up for the lack of decent running capability)).
EDIT: Current definition:
Karnovora marsupiulo kiu aspektas kiel hundo kiu havas tigrajn striojn (Thylacinus cynocephalus) (formortinta)

ceigered:I was trying to translate "Thylacine" (Tasmanian Tiger, see current profile picture) into the Lernu dictionary but hit a snag - how does one say (correctly) that something appears (or looks) like something else?aspekti kiel io alia

Would that work as well?
Ekzemple: Tilacino similas hundon.

Would this hint at them being similar in more than just visual ways though? This is what I'm primarily trying to avoid, to try and make a very short yet accurate definition.
