La uzo de 'devi' estas pli rekta traduko de la angla. Mi esperas, ke tia frazo havas sencon ankaŭ por alilanduloj!
En tiu ĉi kazo la uzo de 'farti' estas bona. Sed tio pensigis min pri alia verbo 'senti min'. En la rakonto "Vere aŭ fantazie" de Claude Piron troveblas tia frazo: "Li igis min senti min infano" La ripeto de 'min' sonas iom nebele, sed necesas tiel. Oni ne povus diri 'li sentigis min infano', ĉar tio egalas al 'li igis min senti infano', kio ne estas ĝusta formo.

Se vi volas emfazi la daŭron de la sidado, tiam oni povus aldoni 'jam': "Ĝi jam sidAs tie dum duonhoro".
En Esperanto oni ofte uzas la nun-tempan formon de la verbo (sidAs) por traduki la "present perfect continuous" de la angla.

Eddycgn:Kaj se ĝi estas dum la pasintan?Tiu frazo en la angla estas gramatike iom malĝusta. Oni tiel ne dirus. Ĉu vi celis diri: 'Last year at school he would sometimes sit there for more than half an hour waiting for the teacher'?
"Last year at school, sometimes he's been sitting there for more than half an hour waiting for the teacher"?
Kaj tion mi tradukus tiel: Pasintjare li iafoje sidis tie dum pli ol duonhoro atendante la instruiston.
