Hi!

I'm one of many (?) that has found this interesting language, Esperanto. I'm trying to learn it and I really want to learn the language to use it to talk to other Esperanto speakers. To start with I thought that it probably would be easier to write than talk. I know there's a chat here on this site but since I've used IRC a lot I thought that maybe there are others like me that want to talk over IRC instead.

To solve this problem, I created this channel, #Esperanto which can be found on QuakeNet. I would love to have someone to "talk" to, beginners or experts, doesn't matter. And hopefully this will help me evolve my Esperanto knowledge.

PS. If anyone wants to write emails/chat with me on MSN, that's fine as well, just send me a message here on Lernu and I'll send you my email-address. DS.

I have used Esperanto on IRC between 1996 and 2002. It's been a while since my last visit but I remember that there was almost always someone on IRCnet's #esperanto channel. On the contrary Undernet's channel was always empty.

Ah, ok. I'm only using Qnet for many different reasons so I probably won't start using IRCnet. But for other Qnet users, now you guys know that the channel exists.

The best irc channel is on freenode.
irc.freenode.org #esperanto
