eitanulo:Who said anything about changing..?It is quite usual when you learn a foreign language that you encounter false friends. English is no exception here.
nova --- Spanish no va - doesn't function
koro --- Polish kora - bark
lustro --- Polish - lustro - mirror
and so on.
What is more interesting are esperanto words that are confusing for esperantists themselves:
eraro --- er + aro - many, many small objects
kolego --- kol + ego - very big neck
kulero --- kul + ero - small part of a mosquito
...
