In the Esperanto version of lernu, when one has to respond to a received message, the button for 'Send' doesn't read 'Sendi'; it reads 'Sendu'.
Why such inconsistency? Very fishy indeed...

Frakseno:Vi konas, ke vi volas ..It should be 'Vi scias, ke vi volas..' We know (scias) facts, but we are acquainted with (konas) persons.

Rohan:STOP THE PRESSES!!!!I don't think it's wrong to use the imperative form, I only think that the infinitive form is not strange.

My personal opinion is that 'sendi' seems a little more neutral and that 'sendu' seems an attempt at "personalizing" the tool (when in fact it is merely a lifeless manmade product that won't ever offer me more than what it was intended and pre-programed for).
When I am addressing comments to a tool, as I mentioned before, it's to give it shit for not working properly.

also in German we would use the infinitiv in such a case i.e. "senden" and not the imperativ i.e. "sende" (singular) or "sendet" (plural).
So it seems it is by far more common to use the infinitiv but also the imperativ should work.

Thank you! You are correct!
I appreciate the correction and have edited my post.

Andybolg:I vote for the imperative!If imperative wouldn't work, you'd be visiting lerni.net!

When I type in this message, I read 'Aldoni mesaĝon', 'Antaŭmontri', ...
It seems like the imperative form is not systematic even in lernu!
So I guess, everyone should feel free to use to his/her conveniance between imperative, infinitive and/or substansive when designing computer tools.

gives people a chance to use which version they grew up with and know and also show them another thought process
